How West Nile is Transmitted

The virus starts with a mosquito that contracts the virus from infected birds, and then transfers it to a person while feeding off them. There have been reported cases in all 48 continental states, with numbers increasing over the last several years.

West Nile Meningitis symptoms include fever, headache and a stiff neck. Symptoms of West Nile Encephalitis include paralysis or palsy of one or more limbs, tremors, fevers, and headaches.
